People-Powered Neighborhood Update

Throughout July and August, in support of our People-Powered Neighborhood project, a dedicated group of Old East End neighbors observed and documented street, crosswalk, and sidewalk conditions, along with pedestrian, bicyclist, and driver behavior.

Old East End volunteers document infrastructure conditions in the neighborhood

We compiled our findings, developed a list of priority improvements, and designed solutions for implementation by Old East End volunteers. Our $10,000 2023 AARP Community Challenge grant will pay for materials.

The proposal is now with the Burlington Department of Public Works, and we hope to begin improvements in October. All work will be complete by the end of November.
